A Village Lost and Found
One of the best scholarly books on stereographs is A Village Lost and Found, by Brian May (yes, THE Brian May of Queen) and Elena Vidal. Lavishly illustrated, the book is a meticulous examination of the 1850s series of stereographs by TR White titled “Scenes in our Village,” which documents life in a small town in rural England. The slipcased volume includes Brian May’s cleverly designed Owl Stereoscope, which lets you view the images in the book in 3D, and can also accommodate traditional stereographs.
